Welcome

Welcome to the first issue of our new online newsletter, "Puzzle Pieces." Each and everyone of you are essential pieces to the OUTSOURCE puzzle. OUTSOURCE experienced record success during our 2004 fiscal year. Despite the contentiousness of the economy, particularly in the Bay Area, through our clients, contractors and internal employees, we were able to rise to the occasion and meet our revenue goals.

As we enter into the last month of our 1st Quarter, OUTSOURCE is more focused than ever on our mission statement and vision.

The goal of this newsletter is to educate our contractors, clients, partners and website visitors with information about our industry, company and professional services. While we understand that everyone is busy, it is our hope that the content of this newsletter gives you a sneak preview inside of OUTSOURCE Consulting Services, Inc. and adds value.

The IT Industry Piece

As a thriving IT Services firm, OUTSOURCE finds it critical to remain abreast of the state of our industry. As you all know, the past three to four years have been challenging with the meltdown of the dot.com industry, 9/11 and the downward turn of the economy. The IT industry has experienced severe job cutbacks, IT projects were delayed and companies have re-evaluated their Information Technology corporate priorities.

Over the past six months, we have seen a cautious but true increase in IT job requisitions. The Federal Government, State Government and commercial sector is deploying enterprise wide technologies to become more efficient. These deployments are resulting in long term projects requiring additional contract resources.

The Federal Piece

In addition to servicing our large corporate clients, OUTSOURCE Consulting Services, Inc. also provides IT Consulting Professional Services to the Federal Government. A study by the Office of Personnel Management and Workforce Planning for the Federal Government shows that impending retirements in large numbers within the next five years will impact the Federal Government workforce substantially. These retirements will offer an opportunity for private sector workers to enter into the government sector and carry “best practices” from private industry with them. This could be a win-win situation, as the employment numbers will increase and the quality of the IT employee in the Federal Government will bring additional efficiencies. As Federal Government agencies begin to plan for the workforce of the future, this opens up additional opportunities to our labor pool.
